Uma Kelkar is a Stanford University graduate from the Department of Electrical Engineering and works as an analog engineer. While having no formal art education, she began creating art at a very early age and seriously picked up paints again in April 2009. In four short years she has won numerous awards, exhibited her paintings in many shows throughout the valley, is a member of the Santa Clara County Watercolor Society and is the youngest member of the oldest cooperative gallery in the Bay Area: Gallery House in Palo Alto. While a busy mom with young children, she still finds the time to fuel her passion.

PLACE: First Congregational Church of San Jose., 1980 Hamilton Ave., San Jose, Ca. 95125. Guests are welcome. We will require a $2 donation toward room rental. Please bring correct change. Refreshments will be provided.

Sheila has a vivacious and welcoming personality and it shows in her uniquely designed, colorful, and very fun framed fabric art. Her love of sewing since she was seven years old inspired her to study fashion design in college. Persuing another creative direction in her late twenties, she studied graphic design which eventually led to starting her own graphic business. In 2010, SheilabeganSheilaCollins FabricArt, combining her enthusiasm for graphic design, sewing and quilting. You can’t help but smile when you see her work. You do not want to miss this artist who will demonstrator her process.
