Kim Marie Smith

Kim, originally from Rapid City, South Dakota, currently lives in San José. From an early age, Kim showed a natural inclination for drawing. While at community college in Southern California, she pursued her interest in the arts through introductory courses in photography, drawing, and painting. Throughout her career in local government, Kim continued to document her travels through photography. Her journey into digital art began while training colleagues on iPad usage for business applications. This discovery sparked her exploration of art-centric applications, particularly Procreate.

Today, she shares her expertise by teaching iPhone skills and iPad art techniques. Her photography and art, in the form of greeting cards, can be seen in boutiques around the Bay Area, as well as at Highway 92 Succulents in Half Moon Bay, where she worked after officially retiring from government work. im is particularly grateful for education provided by mentors Caroline Mustard and Caty Lea who guided her in digital art, and Patricio Jimenez for his instruction in traditional painting.
