Born in Los Angeles, California, Marlene started to draw and create art at a very young age. Both in high school and while majoring in art while attending El Camino College, Marlene took classes in design, lettering, watercolor and oil painting, pen and ink, drawing, and art history. After marriage to her husband Dennis, she moved to the Santa Clara Valley and started her family..
Marlene has always found a way to keep her art at the forefront of her life. Even as a busy mom when her children were young, she worked at her children’s school creating multicultural art activities for young children. With a partner, she went on to publish these activities creating ten resource books for teachers. Later with her grandchildren, she would have weekly summer art classes with them.
Marlene is an active member of the Campbell Artists’ Guild.
