DATE: December 5, 2015
TIME: 1:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m.

LOCATION: First Congregational Church at 1980 Hamilton Avenue, San Jose

Our December meeting always has something for everyone and we hope to see you there. Members are encouraged to bring a friend! Please note: Artist of the Month and Blue Ribbon Gallery competitions will not be held at December’s meeting.

Annual Holiday Potluck Party – Everyone planning to attend is asked to bring some kind of finger food (savory or sweet) to share with the rest of us. If you are inclined to bring a main dish of something savory or sweet, please remember to bring its serving utensil. Don’t forget your personal flatware and plate; Hospitality will be providing cups, liquid refreshments, napkins.

Sharing Autumn Group Project – There will be time for everyone to talk about their interpretations of the two photographs which were selected back in August. Your art must be dry to handle (no framing is necessary) and we look forward to hearing of your artistic journey in your creations. Those artists who did not choose to participate in this project, are encouraged to bring a piece of art any way and present it to your fellow artists along with a brief synopsis of its creation and back story (if any).

ATCs (Artist Trading Cards) Exchanged – Be prepared to trade these little gems! ATCs are miniature pieces of art that are traded around the world. Artists create, trade and collect art at organized “swap” events, either in person or online. The only official rule for ATCs is the size: must be 2.5” x 3.5” (vertical or horizontal). If you have never created an ATC, now is your chance to get in on the fun at: http://www.wikihow.com/Make-Artist-Trading-Cards

Last year, we had a plethora of ATCs being traded. Some artists had participated in a Zentangle® workshop and brought their little jewels to trade; there were framed photography,
watercolors, digital cartoons, acrylics, colored pencil – a wonderful array of talent was on display and traded. You may create ATCs using paper, canvas, board – the materials are endless.

Please note: You must submit an ATC to participate in trading with others. ATCs are for trading only – they are never to be purchased.
